Diventa redattrice del quotidiano tedesco \u201cFrankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung\u201d e copre il processo a Londra del negazionista dell\u2019olocausto David Irving. Dopo un soggiorno a Praga, lavora come corrispondente culturale a Vienna. Dal 2003 vive e lavora come giornalista e scrittrice a Berlino. Il suo romanzo d\u2019esordio <em>Vienna <\/em>(titolo italiano:<em> Tutto il resto \u00e8 di primaria importanza<\/em>), il suo volume di racconti <em>L\u00e4ssliche Tods\u00fcnden<\/em> e il suo ultimo romanzo <em>Quasikristalle<\/em> riscuotono grande successo di critica e pubblico.
