Arthur si dichiara con sprezzo immune\u00a0e scettico a riguardo di qualsiasi magia. Ma il grande Lindemann sa il fatto suo e quando invita Arthur\u00a0sul palco, lo porta a confessare in pubblico i suoi segreti pi\u00f9 reconditi, intimandolo a trasformarli in realt\u00e0. Cos\u00ec, quello stesso giorno, dopo aver abbandonato i tre figli sulla soglia di casa, Arthur svuota il conto in banca\u00a0della famiglia, prende il passaporto e svanisce\u00a0per diventare uno scrittore famoso in tutto il mondo.\u00a0E i ragazzi? Martin, dolorosamente timido, crescendo diventa un prete cattolico. Eric diventa un consulente finanziario di successo. E Ivan sembra destinato\u00a0alla gloria come pittore.\u00a0Kehlmann racconta tre fratelli (e un padre assente), tre impostori, ognuno a suo modo, che hanno saputo crearsi un\u2019esistenza quasi normale. Ma quando scoppia l\u2019estate della crisi finanziaria del 2008, gli incubi diventano reali e si spalanca l\u2019abisso pronto a inghiottirli.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
